Todd has over 25 years of experience as an automotive diagnostic and repair technician, and over 10 years of experience as a technical instructor. At 17, Todd began his career as a Lamborghini apprentice working at Emich Chevrolet in Denver, CO. Also at age 17, Todd placed in the top 10 in the nation at a national VICA skills competition, and place 2nd in the nation for display. He was the only individual that competed in both VICA (http://www.skillsusa.org/) competitions at the same time. At 19, Todd achieved the Oldsmobile Master Certified Technician Award, as well as, certified GMC technician. In 2004 he achieved the General Motors World Class Technician certification. In 2005 Todd became a lead Lamborghini technician, and was moved to Denver Lamborghini (now owned by Sill-TerHar Motors), where he is presently employed. In 2006 he became a certified Bugatti technician, and most recently has certified as a Maserati technician.
Todd began teaching CTI classes in 2002, taking the reins from Chris Chesney. Todd is currently teaching CTI classes in five cities in Colorado (Littleton, Denver, Wheatridge, Boulder, and Lakewood). He has recently taught two very successful, and well received sessions of our new CTI Hands On class in Denver. Todd has been instrumental in helping CTI polish the hands on class. We are now using the finely tuned procedures he developed in all of our hands on sessions through-out the country. Todd’s technical experience, expertise, and ability to effectively teach to multiple levels of experienced technicians, has resulted in the highest level of respect from his students and our own CARQUEST teammates. He has the ability to create an engaging environment in the classroom which has proven to enhance his student’s ability to understand the information, and most important, effectively utilize it at their shops. During the ten years Todd has been an instructor for CTI, there has never been a single negative evaluation.
Todd and his wife Amy have been happily married for 12 years. They have a six year daughter (Natasha) and 18 month old twin boys (Dylan and Devon). Todd’s hobbies, excluding preparing and teaching CTI classes, include flying model airplanes, and shooting (Skeet and Sports Clay). He enjoys spending time with his family, and surprisingly finds time to go bike riding with them, and getting involved with his daughter’s gymnastics program.
All of us at CTI know we are very fortunate to have had Todd on board as a technical instructor, and we look forward to him continuing to teach for us for many years to come.
